Return to Belgium/Moving to another country

When you move back to Belgium or to another country you can notify your departure to the Consulate general in Montreal who can deliver you a certificate that states the end of your consular registration.

If you return to live in Belgium you will have to register with your local town hall. Your registration with the Consulate general in Montreal will therefore be automatically cancelled. The same applies if you move to another country and request your registration at another consulate, which is not compulsory, but highly recommended.

You’ll find more practical information for your return to Belgium on the federal portal site.
