Belgian passport

Belgian passports and identity cards (eID) delivered in Canada contain biometric data. These data (fingerprints, photograph and signature) have to be registered “live”.

To obtain a biometric passport, all Belgian citizens (from the age of six) have to apply in person at the Consulate General in Montreal. Besides, one needs to be registered in the Consulate General's population registry.

If you need a passport but you cannot make it to the Consulate General in Montreal, there are some alternatives to get your biometric data registered. For more information, visit the various pages of this section.
